We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work directly with enterprise customers adopting Kubernetes at scale, translating platform strategy into production-grade implementations.
At Clastix, we build technologies that power real Kubernetes clusters for the most demanding operators — from sovereign cloud providers to AI infrastructure teams. Our open-source projects (Project Capsule, Kamaji) are used in production by companies like NVIDIA, OVH, Rackspace, and Fastweb, and our commercial platform kMetal brings that same foundation to organisations running Kubernetes on bare metal.
You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and the customer — leading architecture conversations, designing multi-cluster topologies for bare metal and hybrid environments, and bringing hard-won field insights back into the roadmap.
Our team is remote-first within Europe, with frequent in-person meetups for team building. Professional fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Lead technical discovery, architecture workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements with enterprise customers
Implement multi-cluster Kubernetes architectures for bare metal, hybrid, and edge environments, including tenant isolation and control-plane topology
Produce reference architectures, deployment blueprints, and technical documentation that scale our delivery beyond 1:1 engagements
Own the customer technical relationship through onboarding, validation, and initial production rollouts
Channel field learnings back into product and engineering — from real-world bare metal gotchas to fleet-management patterns
Contribute to our technical content (blog posts, talks, public reference architectures) that establishes Clastix's authority in the Kubernetes space
Collaborate with our open-source community around Project Capsule and Kamaji, supporting adopters and surfacing commercial use cases
Support the ongoing shaping of kMetal's customer-facing architecture and integration patterns
We strongly encourage engineers to leverage generative AI tools for productivity. A Claude Pro subscription is provided, and we expect engineers to use modern AI-assisted workflows for repetitive or boilerplate tasks.
3-5 years in DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability, or infrastructure solutions-architect roles
Deep operational experience with Kubernetes in enterprise or large-scale production environments — beyond greenfield labs
Hands-on experience with bare metal infrastructure, networking, storage, and Linux virtualisation
Proven ability to run architecture workshops and translate customer requirements into concrete designs
Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills — comfortable with technical buyers, CTOs, and SRE leads
Comfort working alongside Sales on complex B2B opportunities without losing the engineering perspective
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Experience with hosted control plane patterns (e.g., Cluster API, Kamaji, vCluster)
Background with cloud providers, MSPs, sovereign cloud, or AI infrastructure customers
Familiarity with CNCF projects and open-source communities
Experience contributing to public reference architectures, talks, or technical content
